C-Rate in Batteries
C-rate is the measurement of a battery’s charge or discharge current, compared to the maximum capacity, to determine how fast energy enters or leaves. A 1C is standard, indicating that the battery is charged or discharged completely in one hour. A higher C-rate means faster charging/discharging and higher heat generation, while a lower C-rate provides slower charging/discharging and is usually safer for long-term battery health.
