State of Charge (SoC)

State of Charge (SoC) is the level of charge in an electricbattery relative to the maximum capacity. Acting as a fuel gauge for batteries,it is usually expressed as a percentage from 0% to 100%, helping usersdetermine the remaining energy available. Typically, the SoC is calculated bybattery management systems, and while it usually provides an estimate, it canbe influenced by temperature, battery age, and usage patterns.
