Trickle charging slowly delivers a low-amperage electrical current to batteries, matching the natural rate of self-discharge to maintain a battery charge when not in use. This method should not be used to revive or rapidly recharge a dead battery, and these devices must still be disconnected when the battery is full to prevent damage or overheating.
